Embed Interactive Maps on Your Website

GoodMaps Web lets you embed interactive and immersive 3D maps directly on your website – giving visitors instant access to your venue’s layout, destinations, and routes without downloading an app.

Why GoodMaps Web? #

  • Visitors explore before arrival. They preview your space, plan routes, and reduce anxiety – especially those with accessibility needs. A built-in banner encourages downloading the full GoodMaps app for turn-by-turn navigation.
  • Maps stay current automatically. Updates you make in GoodMaps Studio appear instantly across web, mobile, and kiosks – no manual syncing needed.
  • Reaches global audiences. Supports over 25 languages, automatically adapting to visitor preferences.
  • Works everywhere. Desktop, mobile, tablet, all modern browsers – no account or login required.

Integration Approaches: Find What Works for Your Venue #

Different venues take different approaches to GoodMaps Web – choose what fits your needs and your visitors’ behavior.

Embedded on Key Pages #

Feature GoodMaps Web directly on your website where visitors plan visits: accessibility pages, directions and location pages, or your homepage. The map appears in context alongside descriptive text, helping visitors understand your space before arrival. This approach works well for single-location venues or those wanting a focused wayfinding experience.

Hub & Spoke Model #

Create a central wayfinding page or portal that links to maps for multiple buildings, departments, or floors. Visitors choose what they want to explore, then land on a dedicated page with the embedded map. Ideal for campuses, medical centers, or complex multi-use venues where different visitor types need different areas.

Integrated Into Visitor Planning Tools #

Combine GoodMaps Web with other visitor resources – accessibility guides, event schedules, parking information, or amenity directories. The map becomes part of a broader “plan your visit” experience rather than a standalone feature. This approach acknowledges that wayfinding is one piece of a larger journey.

Kiosk & On-Site Access #

Use direct links and QR codes at physical entrances, information desks, or directories. Visitors can quickly access maps on their phones without searching your website. Pairs well with embedded website versions for a seamless before-and-during-visit experience.

Mobile App Integration #

If you have a custom mobile app or website app, embed GoodMaps Web directly into it. This gives app users instant map access without forcing them to download a separate navigation tool. Works for venues with existing digital platforms seeking to enhance them.

Getting Started: The Embed Code #

You need two things: your building ID (your venue’s unique identifier in GoodMaps) and the embed code below.

<iframe src=“https://studio.prod.goodmaps.io/public-viewer?building=YOUR-BUILDING-ID&region=US" width="100%" height="500" style="border:none"></iframe>

Replace YOUR-BUILDING-ID with your venue’s ID (contact your GoodMaps team if you need it).

Customize as needed:

  • Adjust width=”100%” height=”500″ to fit layout (min 400 height recommended)
  • Add &theme=dark for dark mode; users can toggle light/dark mode on the map
  • Include &hideBanner=true to hide the ‘Use App’ banner
  • Switch &region=US to nearest region (US, CA, UK)

Paste the code wherever you want the map to appear based on your preferred approach above.

Share Direct Links #

Need a link instead of an embed? You can use the embedded URL directly for email, social media, QR codes, or digital signage.

E.g. Nashville International Airport (BNA): https://studio.prod.goodmaps.io/public-viewer?building=754b5026-6fb2-4798-b943-760639fbd52f&region=US

Keep Maps Current #

When you update your venue’s map in GoodMaps Studio, changes appear immediately on GoodMaps Web. To update destinations, amenities, or services, simply log into Studio and make your edits – no republishing needed.
