General Information #
To get the best experience with the GoodMaps app, you’ll need a smartphone with the following features in working order:
- A camera (keep the lens clean, and make sure your case isn’t blocking it)
- Gyroscope
- Compass
- Accelerometer
These features come as standard on modern smartphones. So, as long as the phone isn’t damaged from drops or daily wear – and the camera is clean and unobstructed – GoodMaps will function as intended.
You do not need a LiDAR-equipped phone. LiDAR is only used by the GoodMaps team when mapping venues. For everyday navigation, your phone’s camera and standard sensors are all that’s needed.
