There are several ways to optimize the battery of your device while using GoodMaps!
Note: These are merely suggestions – not obligations while using GoodMaps to navigate.
Brightness #
- Dark Mode: A device in dark mode uses less battery than light mode.
- Lower Screen Brightness: This reduces power consumption.
- Enable Auto-Brightness: Many devices can adjust brightness automatically to conserve energy.
Performance #
- Close Other Apps: If you are running multiple apps, the battery will drain faster.
- Update Software: Keeping your phone’s software up to date helps manage the battery performance.
- Enable Battery Saver Mode: This limits background processes and extends the battery life.
Charging Habits #
- Avoid Overnight Charging: Despite the convenience, this can stress the battery.
- Use Fast Charging Sparingly: Fast charging can overheat your battery.
- Use Adaptive Battery: This allows your device to learn and optimize the battery use for your apps. Keep your phone charge between 20–80%.
- Avoid Overheating: Try to keep your phone out of sunlight (causing overheating), which can hurt the battery.
While Using GoodMaps #
- Lowering Your Phone: Did you know you don’t have to leave your phone raised when using GoodMaps the entire time? You can lower your phone to turn off the AR camera – which can drain your battery if you are constantly using it.
- Close Other Apps While Using GoodMaps: If you are running a lot of apps in the background it could impact your phone’s battery performance.
